Guiding Principles – The URBANA FINE ARTS CENTER uses the following guiding principles to establish and ensure high quality and safe programming:
Program space is welcoming and engaging, while allowing children to feel emotionally and physically supported. Space is appropriate for the range of activities the program offers and is properly maintained. Classes, activities and events are diverse and supportive of all youth regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, socioeconomic status, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. Classes and activities encourage healthy life style, independence, responsibility and mutual respect.
Enrollment: Registration: on line, in person or to: URBANA FINE ARTS CENTER – 2860 South Philo Road, Suite H, Urbana, IL 61802. Space is limited for each age group. In the event a class is filled to capacity, a waiting list will be formed on a first come, first serve basis.

Ages: We offer classes for students of ages 3 to adult.
Tuition: Tuition payment is non-refundable and due upon registration. For tuition amount, please, see the Schedule and Prices page. We accept personal checks, cash and credit cards.
Pro-Rating: Tuition is pro-rated after the 2nd week of the semester.
Returned Checks: Urbana Fine Arts center charges customers/students a $25 fee for a check returned by the bank for any reason.
Drop-In Classes: Enrollement in autopay is required and we will post a acharge to the student's account when the student attends each class. Payment will be processed on the Tuesday following each class.
Private Classes: Private classes are offered depending on teachers' availability and studio availibility. Enrollment in autopay is required and we will post a charge to the student's account on the day of each private class. Payment will be processed on the Tuesday following each class. Cancellations of private classes done by the student must be communicated 24 hours prior to each absence to avoid charges.
Missed Classes: Credit is not issued for missing classes or activities, however any missed class can be made up in another age-appropriate class during the same semester of the absence.
Make up classes: Students enrolled in the full semester are encouraged to make up absences. Please, call or e-mail to find out the appropriate class for each make up.
Class Cancellations: If a class is cancelled by URBANA FINE ARTS CENTER, a makeup class, or credit will be offered.
Class Substitution: UFAC might substitute in-person classes by virtual classes if public health authorities or government determine or recommend the closure of business and organizations during certain periods of time. No refund or credit will be issued in this case.
Personal Belongings: Electronics, cell phones and toys are not permitted during classes. Items brought to the premises by participants should be labeled with the child’s name. Lost items will be placed in a lost and found container and discarded or donated, if not claimed by the end of each semester/session. URBANA FINE ARTS CENTER is not responsible for personal items that are misplaced, stolen or broken at its location.
Students’ Personal Information and Personal Affairs: Urbana Fine Arts Center does not share students’ or parents’ information. Urbana Fine Arts Center does not get involved in any type of personal affair between students. This includes: send emails regarding lost personal belongings, help with birthdays invitations, help students to arrange for their rides to the studio and send emails regarding performances and events that our students are involved, unless the student is representing the studio. Snacks and Lunches: Participants are encouraged to bring a snack, if registered for more than one class/day.
Appropriate Wardrobe: Students are expected to comply with the dress code for each class or activity.
Discipline: Students are expected to show respect to their peers and instructors, as well as treat the facilities and equipment with care. Clear expectations will be set at the beginning of each class.
Communication: Communications between UFAC teachers, parents, and Luciana must follow a uniform protocol. Any communication to the studio must be done through phone calls to the studio and emails to info@urbanafineartscenter. Text messages and social media messages will not be considered. All concerns or inquiries pertaining to a student’s involvement at UFAC should be directed to the school director and not to individual teachers. Teachers employed by UFAC, through their employment agreement, are prohibited from directly responding to communications from parents regarding UFAC matters. Please do not contact teachers directly.
Outside Instruction: UFAC is not responsible for any outside instruction or classes taught by UFAC teachers.
Photos and Recordings: No image or sound recording and no photos of any of our in-person or virtual classes is allowed by parents or students.
Medication/Illness: Children with a fever, diarrhea or nausea should not attend classes that day. Upon notification of a sick child during class, a parent or guardian must pick up their child immediately. If the parent or guardian cannot be reached, emergency contacts will be called to pick up the child. In case a child is under prescribed medication, a parent or guardian is expected to be present at the time the medication is to be taken. By signing and agreeing to the URBANA FINE ARTS CENTER policies and procedures and waiver form, included in the registration process, parents and guardians grant permission to have medical treatment that may be deemed advisable to be given to the child/children, in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness.
Weather Conditions: In case of tornadoes, students may be taken to the closest safe spot. In case of cancelations due to weather conditions, an email will be sent to inform all students and parents.
Early Pick Up: If a student needs to be picked up before the end of a class, a parent or legal guardian must communicate it to the studio and come inside the building to pick up the student.
Tardiness: Please, communicate tardiness by phone or e-mail. Students arriving after class has started might be asked to sit and watch class.
