Urbana Fine Arts Center Video Recording Project 2021
May 25, 26 and 27 2:00 to 8:30 PM
Dates, Times and Dances:
Please click here for a pdf document with the names of all students participating in the Video Recording Project, date and time of each recording. Please note that this is a two-page document. The name of the class/dance is listed too. This is important information for students performing more than one dance, so they know what costume or dance attire to wear for each recording.
Costumes: Costumes have been chosen for each student and they are not mandatory. Only costumes approved by Urbana Fine Arts Center’s director or teachers will be allowed. Regular dance attire, as per our dress code, is also an option. Students wearing a ballet costume must wear ballet tights and ballet slippers, as per our dress code. All other students must wear the appropriate costume/attire, as per our dress code. NO nail polish. NO jewelry (this includes earrings). NO watches. Undergarments are not mandatory. Undergarments are available at Austins’ Sportswear and online: https://www.discountdance.com/search/Undergarment-Leotard-Nude Keep your costume in a garment bag at all times. If you don’t have a garment bag, you can purchase one at any retail store. Students should not wear their costumes before the recording date for any purpose other than rehearsals at the studio when required by the teacher. Most ballet costumes will need to be steamed. If you don’t have a steamer, the easiest way to have the costume steamed is to hang the costume in the bathroom with closed doors and fan off for about 30 minutes, while hot water from a shower is on. Important: DO NOT WET THE COSTUME. Costumes borrowed from the studio must be returned as soon as the recording ends.
Masks: Mask will not be mandatory for the performers during the recording, but they will be mandatory for arrival and departure. If you prefer that your child dances wearing a mask, please reply to this email letting us know as soon as possible. Any adult, including UFAC staff, entering the building must wear a mask.
Pre-professional ballet program special requirement: Students in the pre-professional ballet program must take a warm up class at home before coming to the studio. Details will be provided to the student in class this week.
Arrival: Upon arrival, all students must have:
Stage Make up done.
Undergarment (optional) and tights (if tights are required for the costume).
Garment bag with costume, dance shoes and head piece.
Please, remember that dance shoes are not to be worn outside the dance floor. Students must arrive 10 minutes prior the scheduled time for the recording. Entrance will be through the BACK DOOR of Studio 2 (Suite H). One parent will be allowed in the building if the student needs help changing into costume.
Tardiness: All time slots are filled; therefore, we will not be able to wait for any late arrivals.
Dismissal: Students will be dismissed through the same door used for entrance, which is the BACK DOOR of studio 2 (suite H). We ask all parents to remain in the vehicles or nearby, so students can be dismissed immediately after each recording.
