About Tai Chi
Tai Chi for Health
Tai chi is a form of gentle, slow movement that combines stretching and mindfulness. The slow movements relieve stress and anxiety. Tai chi is ideal for adults because the movements do not put too much stress on the muscles and joints. The confirmed health benefits of Tai chi include:
better mood, with lower levels of depression, stress, and anxiety
The proposed course will focus on the “Yang 24 Movements Short Form,” which is the most widely practiced form and one you are likely to see practiced outdoors in China every morning (http://www.everydaytaichi.org/yang-style-24-movements-short-form1.html). The class will focus on adults, and is ideal for Seniors. Loose clothing and dedicated “inside” shoes are needed.
