COVID-19: Special Procedures for In-Person Classes:
All classes are offered in-person and virtually as per in-person classes schedule and prices.
Studio closure: UFAC might substitute in-person classes by virtual classes if public health authorities or government determine the closure of business and organizations during certain periods of time. No refund for paid classes will be issued by UFAC in the case above mentioned.
Drop-in classes: In-person and virtual drop-in classes must be scheduled in advance through our parent portal.
Makeup classes: Makeup classes must be taken virtually.
COVID-19 symptoms: Students with COVID -19 symptoms should wait to attend classes until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours, other symptoms have improved, and at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared, and after afebrile and feeling well (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 72 hours OR has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row, with testing done at least 24 hours apart.
If anyone in the student’s household displays symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with anyone tested positive for COVID-19 the parents must contact CUPHD for directions. If either of the above occur we kindly ask that the student takes virtual classes until cleared by CUPHD.
If a student or teacher exhibits COVID-19 symptoms they will be removed from class and the lobby is the designated area where they will wait for a ride home.
Facilities: Our lobby will be closed to the public, students and teachers, except in case of emergency. Virtual lobby will still be available for parents & students.
Only students and staff members will be allowed in the building while classes are in session, except in case of an emergency.
Masks: Any person entering the building must wear a mask at all times (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering). Every student who is over the age of two and able to medically tolerate a face covering over their nose and mouth, will be required to wear a mask while on premises at all times.
Physical distance: Teachers will ensure that students remain at least 6’ apart during classes at all times.
Water: All students must bring a bottle of water to the studio. Our water fountains will be shut off.
Dress code: Students must arrive dressed up according to our dress code. Students will not be allowed to share any items; therefore, every student must have complete dance attire, appropriate dance shoes, hair accessories, and water bottle.
Personal belongings: Dance bags and backpacks will not be allowed. A small bag for dance shoes will be allowed.
Dressing rooms: Students will not be allowed to change clothes in the bathroom or in the dressing room, therefore, anyone coming into the studios will have to wear the attire for the classes. If a cover up needs to be worn, it should be worn over the dance attire and taken off before entering the studio
Tardiness: Door will be closed 5 minutes after each class starts and no student will be allowed in class after that.
Building entrance: Teachers and students should enter from the back door of the studio where class will take place and arrive 5 minutes before class. Exceptions: students ages 3 to 6 enrolled in ballet purple or ballet pink classes.
Arrival: No student will be allowed to enter the building until the previous class has ended and all students from that class are out of the building.
Students will wait outside before entering the building. We kindly ask parents to help children to keep a safe distance from others while waiting to enter the building. Students will enter one at a time, following the procedures below: • Take street shoes off and place them on the shoe rack immediately inside the studio. • Put dance shoes on. • Place any item (small shoe bag, water bottle, etc.) on the shelf or cubby. There will be marks on the shelves where items can be placed to ensure that students’ belongings do not come in contact with other students’ belongings. • Go straight to the bathroom to wash hands with soap and water. • Go into the studio to a designated spot and wait there until class starts.
Physical contact: No physical contact between teacher and student or student and student will be allowed. Corrections will be done verbally.
Social distance rules: Teachers will monitor social distance between students. If any student is reluctant to cooperate with social distance rules, such student will be sent home and might be asked to take classes from home for the remaining of the semester.

Students will be dismissed one at a time, observing the procedures below: • Go to the bathroom and wash hands with soap and water. • Get water bottle and any other belonging from the shelves or cubbies. • Switch shoes. • Exit the building.
Students will not be dismissed until the end of their class.
Lost Items: To avoid cross traffic, once dismissal procedures start students are not allow to go back to the studio where their class took place to get forgotten items. Items forgotten in the classrooms will be immediately placed in the lost & found bin and we will give it back to student only with permission from the parents, since cross contamination might be an issue. Please, arrive on time to pick up your child. If a parent is not in the parking lot at the time of dismissal, the student will be sent to the front lobby and dismissal will be from the front door, observing the same procedures described below.
Early pick up: If you have to pick up your child earlier, please, choose the virtual class for that day, so training can be done from home.
Early pick up due to emergencies: In case of an emergency (accident or illness), if a student needs to be dismissed earlier, the following procedures will take place: • A UFAC staff member will call the parents asking them to pick up the child, if contact has not already been made. • Student will be placed in the lobby, keeping a distance of 6’ from the office manager and any others. • Parent or adult designated by the parent must call the studio upon arrival. • Please, remain in your vehicle. • A UFAC staff member will open the front door for the student to leave and watch until the student gets in the car.
Parents of students ages 3 to 6 enrolled in the Ballet Purple or Ballet Pink classes: Please, make sure your child uses the bathroom at home, before coming to the studio. Please, park your car at the west parking lot (facing the front door of the studio). Drop off your child at the front door. Since parents will not be allowed in the building, we will call you if a bathroom trip is needed, or if any issue that requires parental help occurs. If absolutely necessary (emergencies only), one parent will be allowed inside the studio, wearing a mask and observing the social distance rules. At the end of class, please come to the front door. We will dismiss one child at a time.
